Born a mid western girl but an ocean girl at heart! My soul belongs to the sea....I am obsessed with the color TURQUOISE and all things beachy. I love nature, the outdoors, dogs, cooking, wine, art backpacking, cycling and reading. I also have a passion for photography and I absolutely love photographing the beach that is where my soul is happiest.! I hope you enjoy following me and my adventures so welcome to my blog, I hope you are inspired.
HAPPY BLOGGING !
So I had to share this with everyone. My husband came home from work the other day and told me about a program he heard on npr about describing your life in 6 words... So it got me thinking. Have you ever thought about describing your life in 6 words ??? trust me it's kind of hard. So here are two that I came up with... " See past my flaws, accept me".
"Edisto Beach State Park, South Carolina"
I would to hear what you come up with!!! It really get's your mind thinking.
oh and the photo is from my most favorite place on the planet Edisto Beach, South Carolina.I am just dreaming about walking up that path to the beach....
Happy Tuesday! I can't wait to hear what you come up with :-)
So like many of you mid westerners I have spring fever so bad! I am sooo dreaming of vaca on the beach. I can't wait to get on my beach cruiser and just tool around. So my sister pulled this little jem out of her neighbors trash. This bike was originally purple and really beat up. So you know the saying "one mans junk is another ones treasure" or something like that, so true. Anyway you get the picture. So I am so happy with the way it turned out. Wish I would have taken before and afters oh well. I have to give the credit to my husband who painted it for me(custom blue of course) Then I had to make it all cute and girly and add the hibiscus flowers, bell and daisy basket . I just hot glue gunned simple little daisies to the basket and voila ! Beach ready... That basket fits 2 bottles of vino quite nicely I must say! I love taking something old and recycling it, you just have to have a vision and be able to see past all the imperfections. I am starting to get really inspired to start getting crafty I have all kinds of new ideas in mind I will keep you posted on the next art project, I think all this sunshine got me motivated ! Have a great week!
TGIF!!! wow what a long cold week.... So I am going to leave you with this recipe you need to try Saturday morning. Seeing that it takes a little longer to prepare this weekend is the perfect time to try this tasty frittata. This is so fresh and tasty and actually pretty healthy seeing that you use only egg whites. So go ahead and splurge on this one I promise you won't be disappointed!
Goat Cheese And Veggie Frittata
6-8 eggs seperated goat cheese for crumbling on top baby bella mushrooms squash zucchini spinach asparagus tips fresh basil
whisk egg whites add pinch salt and pepper
lightly saute veggies in skillet then add egg whites swirl egg whites around in pan until evenly coated cook until eggs are slightly firm remove skillet from stove. (A little trick I learned, you need to cover the skillet handle with aluminum foil so it doesn't burn in the oven) place in 400 degree oven and finish cooking about 4-5 min when there is about 1 -2 min left crumble goat cheese and fresh basil on top.
Enjoy with a nice side of fresh fruit and a fresh brewed cup a joe
Bon Appetit!!
Hope you give this recipe a try this Saturday morning. What is on your agenda for the weekend? I am just hoping for a little sunshine!
Damask my new favorite pattern, it seems to be the pattern of the moment. And look it even comes in my favorite color Turquoise !!! which also happens to be the color of the year woo hooo!!! I Love Love Love this little clutch, how cute would that be paired with a cute little jean skirt and a white tank top! Can you tell I have spring fever ??? Oh and of course you have to have this cute pillow as well. Wonder if I can talk my sister into making me some of these pillows??? She did such an awesome job on my beachy floor pillows. Well it looks like I am going to have to search the all mighty internet for some of this fabric !!! Hope you have a good rest of the week!
Now I know chalkboard paint has been around for awhile but I finally painted something other than metal boards. This stuff is so fun. You can't help but when you walk by a chalkboard but to add a little something to it. I think they are great for so many things, making a grocery list to goals, dreams , inspirational quotes or even expressing your love of WINE!Just thought I would share my latest little house project, I love the way it turned out. My husband said I am a chalkboard hog!!! guess I should leave him a little more room! sorry honey, I sometimes get a little carried away . Hope you have a good rest of your weekend!
Ok so I missed my Fresh Friday post, so here you go... Shrimp Fajitas Yumo-o saute shrimp I used Baja chipotle marinade. Saute onions and peppers I used green yellow and red. Fresh guacamole. For the guacamole 4-5 ripe avocados 1/3 cup chopped cilantro chopped red onions 1 jalapeno finely diced mash avocados, add all remaining ingredients . Finish with black beans, squeeze of fresh lime juice and pinch of cilantro. Enjoy with some guiltless gourmet blue corn chips. Very fresh and tasty! Hopefully this will spice up your day, I need it it's another perma gray day in the midwest.
Now check out my new beachy floor pillows... Yipee!!! I have to give all the credit to my sister she rocks! I have been looking for some beachy fabric since last summer. I finally founds some! Good thing I had her put zippers in them I can already see red wine getting spilled on them. Thanks for making my pillows Carrie they look fabulous. That made my day today.Every time I use them I will be dreaming of the ocean. Have a wonderful Saturday. What is on your agenda for the day? maybe a spring art project perhaps???
So it is not often that you get such a beautiful sunrise, truly this is one of the most amazing sunrises I have seen in a long time(minus the telephone poles). That is city life for you!. I don't know why but for some reason this one spoke to me. Now I know you are probably thinking "it spoke to me" really come on !!! but for some reason it did. The weird thing is it only lasted for a few brief moments then it was gone. I am so glad I grabbed my camera and captured it, it was a great way to start my day. It's these kind of things that make me so appreciative , to be alive and healthy and to be so fortunate. Just thought I would share this beautiful sunrise, sometimes it's moments like these that put things in perspective.
We go about our daily lives and often we never take the time to truly enjoy life.We get so consumed with our jobs, kids, responsibilities that we kind of miss out on these amazing gifts. So next time you see an amazing sunrise or sunset really take a minute to enjoy it and savor the moment. I often think about people who never really "take time to smell the roses" it's really kind of makes me feel sad for them. People are going through life and missing out on so many amazing things!!! Hope you have a great rest of the week.
