Happy Frozen Friday!!!

Let me introduce you to the Island Girl Cocktail...

Island Girl

Stir together 8 ounces (1 cup) cranberry juice cocktail, 8 ounces (1 cup) vodka, 4 ounces (½ cup) ginger ale, and 2 ounces (¼ cup) fresh lime juice in a large pitcher. Pour into ice-filled glasses, and garnish with lime wedges. Makes 4 servings.
So winter still has it's nasty little grip on us but.... 22 more days to spring!!! I know we need to stay positive but... it is really hard when the sun doesn't shine for days on end. So I will just keep dreaming about warm beachy places. What I wouldn't give to be lounging in that lounger while reading a good book. I think I am there now in my mind .AHHHH yes I can feel the warm salty sea air blowing through my hair while I sip the Island Girl cocktail. I long for the day when my toes hit the sand.
So for now I will light some candles, pour some vino , put on some jazz and start some spring crafting! So I bought this letter S painted it turquoise then simply glued tiny little sea shells to it. Voila you have a cute little beach inspired project.

Then for the daisy wreath I just bought a simple wreath and hot glued on the daisies and the cute little turquoise butterflies, yes turquoise again I LOVE turquoise. So since the weather is crummy get to crafting it will lift your spirits.

Well I am off to start another craft project... I will keep you posted!

Photography Love

So all this sunshine we have had all weekend has really inspired me. Now I am no professional photographer but I think I have an eye for it. My husband is so supportive of my photography and always encourages me. I am always looking for a great photo opp. I try to take my camera with me everywhere I go. You never know when your eye will catch something special.
I have been thinking about taking a photography class for a long time, I just need to do it! Life get's so busy that sometimes your passions and dreams go by the wayside. I guess the saying "get busy living or get busy dying " really rings true. So I thought I would share a few of my photos.... I can't wait until spring so I can get out there with my camera and start snapping photos !

I hope you had a chance this weekend to do something creative and fun !

I can't wait to take some more photos and share them. I think am starting to come out of my winter depression, funny how a little sunshine will do that to you!

Happy Crafting

Wow the sun has been shinning for two days now and I couldn't be happier or more inspired! This winter has really been hard. When the sun shines I get a little crazy and want to do a million things, sometimes I get anxiety and I can't decided what project I want to do! Since the sun has been shining I have suddenly been re inspired to be creative. So the other might we had craft night at my friend Sara's house. We made an awesome salad with a mango dressing and some olive tapenade bruschetta, it was YUMMY!
Then we poured some vino and got busy crafting.....
We pulled out the paint and bedazzles and got to crafting!

Now we didn't finish our projects that night but we made a good start, we did however laugh a lot, we laughed so much it hurt! It is so nice to be around such inspiring and crafty girls. When I get this project done I will post it so stay tuned for more craft nights with the girls...

I hope you are inspired I think my creative juices are flowing, must be all the sunshine! I have to say our first craft night was a success. Hope you find something crafty to do this weekend. Check back for more craft nights. Today I am a Happy Crafter! Now get to crafting.

Fresh Friday

Wooo Hooo it's Friday and the sun was shining all day! Wow maybe there is hope for spring to come just yet. The birds have been warming up there vocal chords the last few days, they will have a lot to sing about once spring announces it's arrival. Now I don't know about you but I have spring fever so bad, I need to do a little retail therapy shopping. These next few weeks I will be feverishly making to do lists of spring projects. Spring is such an exciting time of year, it's such a re birth of our planet. Flowers start to poke their sleepy little heads up and the birds start to practice their spring serenade. The buds on the trees start to swell, I get so excited just thinking about it. Now you all know how I feel about winter in the midwest , it almost kills me emotionally. So today I am celebrating the anticipation of spring and I am Happy Today. So with that I leave you with a fresh and tasty fresh Friday recipe....

Pasta With Shrimp And Fresh Herbs

I used I box of low carb pasta, or if you like you can use whole wheat pasta

Make pasta according to directions.
Meanwhile saute shrimp with white wine, garlic pinch crushed red pepper, and olive oil

In a seperate pan measure 1/2 cup of oil and infuse 5 cloves of garlic and a pinch of red pepper about 3 minutes, careful not to overcook the garlic it will burn. Remove garlic cloves and discard, keep infused oil to add to pasta.

Once pasta is finished drain and add shrimp and fresh herbs.
Chop fresh basil, parsley and mint toss all ingredients together including infused oil, top with fresh grated parmesan. This dish pairs really well with nice glass of riesling.

Oh and for desert a little dark chocolate

Enjoy~

Your Life in 6 Words

So I had to share this with everyone. My husband came home from work the other day and told me about a program he heard on npr about describing your life in 6 words... So it got me thinking. Have you ever thought about describing your life in 6 words ??? trust me it's kind of hard. So here are two that I came up with...

" See past my flaws, accept me".

"Edisto Beach State Park, South Carolina"

I would to hear what you come up with!!! It really get's your mind thinking.

oh and the photo is from my most favorite place on the planet Edisto Beach, South Carolina.I am just dreaming about walking up that path to the beach....

Happy Tuesday! I can't wait to hear what you come up with :-)

Beach Cruiser Love

So like many of you mid westerners I have spring fever so bad! I am sooo dreaming of vaca on the beach. I can't wait to get on my beach cruiser and just tool around. So my sister pulled this little jem out of her neighbors trash. This bike was originally purple and really beat up. So you know the saying "one mans junk is another ones treasure" or something like that, so true. Anyway you get the picture. So I am so happy with the way it turned out. Wish I would have taken before and afters oh well. I have to give the credit to my husband who painted it for me(custom blue of course) Then I had to make it all cute and girly and add the hibiscus flowers, bell and daisy basket . I just hot glue gunned simple little daisies to the basket and voila ! Beach ready... That basket fits 2 bottles of vino quite nicely I must say! I love taking something old and recycling it, you just have to have a vision and be able to see past all the imperfections. I am starting to get really inspired to start getting crafty I have all kinds of new ideas in mind I will keep you posted on the next art project, I think all this sunshine got me motivated ! Have a great week!

Happy crafting!

Fresh Friday Frittata

TGIF!!! wow what a long cold week.... So I am going to leave you with this recipe you need to try Saturday morning. Seeing that it takes a little longer to prepare this weekend is the perfect time to try this tasty frittata. This is so fresh and tasty and actually pretty healthy seeing that you use only egg whites. So go ahead and splurge on this one I promise you won't be disappointed!

Goat Cheese And Veggie Frittata

6-8 eggs seperated
goat cheese for crumbling on top
baby bella mushrooms
squash
zucchini
spinach
asparagus tips
fresh basil

whisk egg whites
add pinch salt and pepper

lightly saute veggies in skillet
then add egg whites swirl egg whites around in pan until evenly coated
cook until eggs are slightly firm
remove skillet from stove. (A little trick I learned, you need to cover the skillet handle with aluminum foil so it doesn't burn in the oven) place in 400 degree oven and finish cooking about 4-5 min when there is about 1 -2 min left crumble goat cheese and fresh basil on top.

Enjoy with a nice side of fresh fruit and a fresh brewed cup a joe

Bon Appetit!!

Hope you give this recipe a try this Saturday morning.
What is on your agenda for the weekend? I am just hoping for a little sunshine!
